Rich Egg and Butter Bread Aug 25th 2016, 15:04, by Lori Lange
Here’s a beautiful loaf of yeasted bread to make from scratch: Rich Egg and Butter Bread
If I had to name a food that my family is particularly attached to, I’d probably say it was bread. Not just any bread… but freshly baked, awesome bread. It’s tough to resist eating half a loaf of something like that all in one sitting. This bread dough is infused with butter- a whole stick of butter. It’s lightly sweetened, but the essence of the baked loaf is buttery and the added egg helps with the rich flavor too.
I haven’t been making sweets lately because I’m on DAY 19 of the Whole30 program. Can you believe I’ve made it that far?? You’re not supposed to weight yourself while on the journey, but since I’m mildly obsessed with weighing myself daily… I haven’t been able to resist. And I’ve dropped 10 pounds without even trying… just by eating foods that are good for me. Yay! The toughest things for me have been not being able to go out to dinner (because you can’t find foods that match the Whole30 program) and not drinking wine at all. I’ve been really happy with all of the recipes I’ve made. And it’s likely that I’ll keep some of these “new” habits around. Have you ever tried Whole30? It’s probably best to start with buying the book and reading every bit of it.
Red Wine Mushrooms Aug 16th 2016, 20:55, by Lori Lange
Here is a delicious recipe for wine and mushroom lovers: Red Wine Mushrooms
We have mixed feelings about mushrooms in our house. My husband and I are both over-the-moon in love with them and will eat them here, there and everywhere. My son dubs them as the most disgusting things he’s ever put in his mouth. I keep telling the kiddo that SOMEDAY he will love mushrooms as much as us. He’s doubtful.
These mushrooms are drenched in red wine after a good sauté with a few onions and fresh thyme. Adult mushroom-lovers will like this recipe very much!
Easy Ramen Salad Aug 5th 2016, 10:00, by Lori Lange
Great recipe for company: Easy Ramen Salad
This is one of those recipes that is so surprisingly popular when you put it on your dinner table… or when you serve it up at parties. It’s usually one of the first things to disappear! People find those Ramen noodles irresistible. I know it seems weird, but they totally work in this salad!! A tangy dressing marinates the dry noodles… turning them into a good texture for inclusion in a salad.
Book Review Blog: Novel Visits Jul 30th 2016, 14:02, by Lori Lange
Introducing a book review blog that you must check out: NovelVisits.com. If you are always looking for the next great book to read, this will be a great site for you to bookmark!
Remember when my sister Susie used to write book recommendations on RecipeGirl for each season? Well, she has a blog of her own now, where she is sharing book reviews! Susie is an avid reader. And by “avid reader,” I mean she reads more than anyone on this planet. She’s a lover of books, enjoys sharing her opinions about books, and she’s darn good at finding the best books to read too.
The Pier 2620 Hotel at Fisherman’s Wharf is located at Jones and Bay- a central location to Fisherman’s Wharf, just three blocks from the Embarcadero and a short distance from the boat that will take you to tour Alcatraz!
I was so happy to stumble on this recipe again after having it in my recipe collection for a large number of years. There are only 6 simple ingredients for these chocolatey cookies, and they bake for just 7 minutes. I made mine into smallish cookies, so the recipe made quite a lot. When I have too many cookies on hand, that tends to be dangerous… so I pop them into a large ziploc baggie and store them in the freezer– where they are seemingly safe from excess cookie munching!
Easy One Pot Caprese Pasta Jul 16th 2016, 10:00, by Lori Lange
Here’s a super easy, healthy dinner recipe for you: Easy One Pot Caprese Pasta
One pot meals are the absolute best! They are so easy and convenient to make (the clean-up is YAY), and they’re low stress too. Who wants to cook a dinner that uses three pots?? I do that once in a while for sure, but on busy days I want EASY.
Birthday Cake Milkshakes Jul 14th 2016, 10:00, by Lori Lange
I’ve partnered with M&M’S® to create a fun birthday themed recipe: Birthday Cake Milkshakes
If there is a birthday coming up for a certain someone you know… a someone who enjoys being surprised with goodies, then a birthday milkshake is the way to go. It’s a treat filled to the brim with an M&M’S cake batter milkshake, and the rim is adorned with the most delicious garnish ever.
Some friends of ours hosted a big event at this resort, so my husband and I flew in to Vegas to attend. I had never stayed anywhere but the strip in Vegas… so it was a delightful surprise to find this place! It’s a resort that sits on the edge of a man made lake. And it’s only about 20 minutes from the strip!
